 Siddhartha Sharma Charitable Trust was founded in the sweet everlasting memory of Dearest Siddhartha Sharma who was the youngest son of the Dr. Bimal K Sharma M.D. (Medicines) & Dr. (Mrs.) Abha Mudgil Sharma M.D. (Paediatrics) of Sharma Hospital, Mall Road Kapurthala. Siddhartha was studying in Canada, completed his 11th std in Science and Math’s & was on summer vacation in India. On the doomsday of 16th 2004 he was serving “Langar” in Sat Narayan Mandir, Kapurthala when all of a sudden to falling of Parapet (BANERA of roof) , he collapsed there.
He was a very lively popular, jovial boy of Kapurthala. He used to make “WHISTLES”. He was in primary school at Kapurthala so he was known was “WHISTLE BOY “in the city. The untimely, unbelievable lose of dynamic energetic youth left he Doctor’s Family Shattered, not only Doctor’s but the city also. To repay the society in Siddhartha’s memory Dr Sharma’s started a trust where to provide help to the humanity in the form of free medical camps at the hospital and various slum areas of the city & surroundings. Dr. Sharma are equally supported by their son Dr. Anirudh Sharma (doing internship at present) & Daughter Dr. Manisha Sharma who is going to join residency in USA this year 2008) along with officers various organizations & individuals of city.
Trust is registered under the Society Act XXI of 1860 and as amended by Punjab Amendment Act-1957 vide no. KPT/ARS/733 dated 3rd July 2006.
Trust is exempted from Income Tax vide order 4/S/2AA1b/11 of income Tax. Act File NO. CIT/jal11/Trust/06-07/345.
Hon’ble Minister of Punjab –Education, Justice & Aviation Dr Upinderjit Kaur Ji granted 1 Lac Rupees to the Trust on the eve of 23r Monthly free Medical Camp held on 5th June 2007 at Sharma Hospital, Mall Road, and Kapurthala.
