Siddhartha Sharma Charitable Trust (Regd.) was founded in the sweet everlasting memory of dearest Siddhartha Sharma, son of the Dr. Bimal Kumar Sharma M.D. (Medicine) u0026amp; Dr. (Mrs.) Abha Mudgil Sharma M.D. (Paediatrics) Chief Physician at Sharma Hospital, Mall Road – Kapurthala (Pb.).
Siddhartha was studying in Canada. He completed his 11th grade in Science and Math’s u0026amp; was on summer vacation to India. On the doomsday of 16th August 2004, Siddhartha was serving “Langar” in Sat Narayan Mandir, when all of a sudden parapet (i.e. banera of the roof) fell over him and he collapsed there.
The Whistle Boy
Siddhartha was a very lively, popular and jovial boy of Kapurthala. He used to “Whistle”. When he was in primary school in Kapurthala, he was popularly known was “Whistle Boy” in the city. The untimely and implausible loss of such a dynamic and energetic youth has left the city shattered.
To repay the society in Siddhartha’s loving memory Dr. Sharma started a trust to provide help to the humanity in the form of free medical camps at their hospital and various other areas of the city and surrounding slums.
Dr. Bimal Kumar Sharma and Dr. Abha Mudgil Sharma are equally supported by their son Dr. Anirudh Sharma (M.S. Orthopaedics) and daughter Dr. Manisha Sharma (M.D. Medicine, D.M. Rheumatology) along with officers, various organizations and individuals of city.
Siddhartha Sharma Charitable Trust (Regd.) is registered under the Society Act XXI of 1860 and as amended by Punjab Amendment Act-1957 vide no. KPT/ARS/733 dated 3rd July 2006.
Siddhartha Sharma Charitable Trust (Regd.) is exempted from Income Tax vide order 4/S/2AA1b/11 of income Tax. Act File NO. CIT/jal11/Trust/06-07/345.
Hon’ble Minister of Punjab – Education, Justice u0026amp; Aviation Dr. Upinderjit Kaur Ji granted 1 Lakh Rupees to the Trust on the eve of 23rd monthly free medical camp held on 5th June 2007 at Sharma Hospital, Mall Road – Kapurthala.
